The CW orders ‘Batwoman’ pilot

Batwoman will likely debut on The CW later this year.

Variety has reported that The CW have ordered a Pilot for the Batwoman show. Ruby Rose debuted as Kate Kane/Batwoman in last month’s Elseworlds crossover for The CW.

Batwoman is an openly gay superhero, and her actress, Rose, is also gay. Recently, Rose played Jaxx in The Meg with Jason Statham and also played Stella Carlin in Orange Is the New Black.

As CW reports, Kate has to ‘overcome her own demons’ before she can save Gotham, which is ‘overrun by mayhem’. Greg Berlanti, producer of most CW DC shows, will produce, while The Vampire Diaries writer Caroline Dries will write.

Batwoman will likely debut on The CW later this year.
