Dark Horse announces new series ‘Aliens Colonial Marines: Rising Threat’

A new comic series from the universe of the greatest horror movie of all time.

Alien is recognized by many as being one of the greatest horror films of all time. It has influenced several generations of filmmakers, writers, directors, and creators across the many fields of media where we find the horror genre.

The follow up film, Aliens, was universally acclaimed as one of, if not the best, sequels of all time, and helped launch a franchise that is still alive and well today. Its story follows Warrant Officer Ripley, the lone survivor from the first film, and a group of colonial marines, a cocky and confident bunch that expect inevitable victory against whatever foe they encounter. Of course the marines encountered a brutal wake up call in the form of the horrifying xenomorphs, and nearly all of them fall before the alien onslaught.

Following the release of Aliens, the franchise has pitted the colonial marines against the xenomorph more than once, with the results being violent and extremely satisfying. So fans are sure to be thrilled to learn that Dark Horse Comics has announced a new Aliens comic book series that once again pits the colonial marines against the horrifying alien menace in Aliens Colonial Marines: Rising Threat.

Aliens Colonial Marines: Rising Threat delves into the formative years of the Colonial Marines. Tying into the events of the upcoming Cold Iron Studios video game, this new series introduces Olivia Shipp, leader of a squad of battle-weary Marines who have defied orders to rescue the survivors of a refinery under siege.
