DC producing Legion flight rings to celebrate the return of Legion of Super-Heroes

Guaranteed to grant the power of flight.

DC’s announcement of the return of Legion of Super-Heroes has the comic world abuzz with excitement. Fans have been suspecting that this was coming ever since Brian Michael Bendis and DC began teasing #DCMillennium on social media. Yesterday the mystery was finally solved when Bendis confirmed the return of Legion as a monthly ongoing series.

The event will kick off with a special two-part prelude in Legion of Super-Heroes: Millennium #1, beginning this September. Bendis will be writing both the prelude event and the monthly ongoing series.

Naturally there have been a lot of questions and comments from excited fans directed at Bendis on Twitter. The writer decided he’d tease fans a little on Twitter by revealing that DC is actively producing new Legion flight rings.

“Psst! Y’all know we’re getting new #LegionOfSuperHeroes rings too, right? Already designed and in production! I would not have teased this this hard unless we are bringing aaaaaall the thunder!”

Legion flight rings are given to every card carrying member of the 31st century super hero team. Engraved with the signature “L” of the Legion, the ring provides its wearer with the ability to fly in both atmospheric environments and outer space. The rings are composed of the compound known as Valorium, a metallic alloy of Thanagarian Nth Metal.

It’s likely DC will release the rings alongside Legion of Super-Heroes: Millennium #1 to celebrate the return of the fan-favorite super hero team. The first issue is scheduled to be released on Wednesday September 18.
