Neon Genesis Evangelion: Asuka Langley cosplay by Shiro

The orange-haired, blue-eyed pilot of the Evangelion Unit 02 from the Neon Genesis Evangelion anime comes to life.

The Second Child and the pilot of the Evangelion Unit 02, Neon Genesis Evangelion protagonist Asuka Langley Sohryu, comes to life courtesy of cosplayer Shirogane-sama (who previously blew us away with her Into the Spider-Verse Spider-Gwen and Cindy Aurum from Final Fantasy XV cosplays) in the following photoset.

Asuka was born to an American father and a German mother. She is also one quarter Japanese and speaks the language fluently.

Asuka’s first name comes from the Japanese World War II aircraft carrier Soryu, her middle name from the American World War II aircraft carrier Langley, and her Rebuild surname from the Japanese World War II destroyer Shikinami.

Asuka’s English voice actress is Tiffany Grant, who has been critically praised for her work in the role.
