NYCC 2019: Lucasfilm Publishing Announces Clone Wars Anthology and more

Lucasfilm Publishing gave NYCC attendees a little sneak peak at what is to come in the world of Star Wars literature.

During it’s annual New York ComicmCon panel, Lucasfilm publishing unveiled a handful of new Star Wars books, most notably a collection of short stories called Clone Wars Anthology.

Featuring works by a slew of authors, including scribe of the Galaxy’s Edge tie-in novel A Crash of Fate Zoraida Cordova, Clone Wars Anthology will boast a handful of brand new short stories that explore various aspects of the great Clone Wars. The book is currently set for an August 25, 2020 release.

Jumping from the Prequel Era to the Sequel Era, Lucasfilm Publishing also announced the release dates of The Rise of Skywalker‘s extended edition novelizations. Like previous novelizations, these will feature deleted and extended scenes not featured in the film. For obvious reasons, no plot details of either novelization have been released just yet. The regular expanded edition novelization will be written by Rae Carson and released on March 3, 2020 while the junior extended novelization by Michael Kogge will hit stands on March 21, 2020.

The team behind Star Wars: Myths and Fables is reuniting for a new, scarier book that focuses on the darkside of the Force. Aptly titled Star Wars: Dark Legends, this book is expected to be a horror driven exploration of the Dark Lords of the Sith. Look for Star Wars: Dark Legends from George Mann and Grant Griffin around Halloween 2020.

It wasn’t all books at the panel, however, as Lucasfilm Publishing and Marvel Comics finally unveiled their plans for the mainline Star Wars comic after the series wraps up in November. You can read all about it here.
