In brightest day, in blackest night, beware his power, BERLANTI’S LIGHT! It’s most certainly one of the brighter days for comic book fans, as Variety reports that Doom Patrol’s Greg Berlanti is developing both a Green Lantern and Strange Adventures series for upcoming streaming service, HBO Max.
Strange Adventures is described as a superhero anthology, featuring characters across DC’s library. It’ll be a one hour drama, exploring close-ended tales about the interlocking lives of super-humans and ordinary ones.
Speaking about this and Green Lantern, Berlanti said “An anthology series of cautionary tales set in a world where superpowers exist, and, in what promises to be our biggest DC show ever made, we will be going to space with a Green Lantern television series, but I can’t reveal any more about that just yet.”
According to sources, Strange Adventures had been in development at DC Universe before being moved to HBO Max. Gotham’s John Stephens will be the show-runner and writer for the series. Berlanti, Supergirl’s Sarah Schechter and Gotham’s Charlie Huston will Executive Produce.
HBO Max will debut May 2020.
