Batman: Phantasm cosplay by Jordan

Jordan J. brings one of Batman’s most formidable foes to life in the following gallery.

“Your Angel of Death awaits…”

Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, the 1993 feature-length animated Batman film ranks right up there with the Nolan trilogy in the upper echelon of our favorite Batman movies of all time — so when we saw this amazing Phantasm cosplay from Detroit-based cosplayer Jordan J., we knew we had to make it our next featured gallery with the quickness.

The Phantasm wore a grim-reaper-inspired protective bodysuit with a large, curved blade, reminiscent of a razor-sharp scythe attached to her right hand. A mechanism was attached to her left gauntlet that dispensed smoke to provide a theatrical effect as well as shield her attacks and movements. The skull-mask features a built-in voice changer which modifies the wearer’s voice as well as serving as a breathing filter. The eye lenses of the mask contains some sort of thermal imaging or image enhancement to allow the Phantasm to move freely through its own smoke cloud.

Magic always seems to happen when shooting with @jasonlaboyphotography / dude is always focused and has a vision for shots and it really shows in his work. Something that’s been in the works, glad we were able to make this happen today at #YoumaCon Thank you again for taking time out of your day to do this. I appreciate it bro 🙏🏼☺️🖤🤙🏼 – Red Hood on the back burner, to shine some light on my newer cosplays. It’s weird cosplaying other characters as I’m so use to only doing Red Hood, but it’s fun to try and do new things with these newer and different characters. With The Phantasm it’s difficult, because there’s not much to go off of, so really it’s up to me and any photographer I work with to try and create something new and original and I love that process. – #batman #batmanmaskofthephantasm #maskofthephantasm #thephantasm #thephantasmcosplay #maskofthephantasmcosplay #dc #dccomics #dcuniverse #dccomicscosplay #dcuniversecosplay #dceu #thebatman #gothamcity #gotham

In Case You Missed It

Television is an ever-changing landscape. From the early days of sitcoms and procedurals, to serialized dramas like Lost and 24 taking over in the early 2000s, to an obsession with antiheroes, to the current state of streaming that has every type of show you can think of, there’s a lot of content out there to go around. What to choose can be a herculean task in and of itself that sometimes takes so long you give up and watch something familiar instead. Television is an ever-changing landscape.
