“Your Angel of Death awaits…”
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, the 1993 feature-length animated Batman film ranks right up there with the Nolan trilogy in the upper echelon of our favorite Batman movies of all time — so when we saw this amazing Phantasm cosplay from Detroit-based cosplayer Jordan J., we knew we had to make it our next featured gallery with the quickness.

The Phantasm wore a grim-reaper-inspired protective bodysuit with a large, curved blade, reminiscent of a razor-sharp scythe attached to her right hand. A mechanism was attached to her left gauntlet that dispensed smoke to provide a theatrical effect as well as shield her attacks and movements. The skull-mask features a built-in voice changer which modifies the wearer’s voice as well as serving as a breathing filter. The eye lenses of the mask contains some sort of thermal imaging or image enhancement to allow the Phantasm to move freely through its own smoke cloud.
