We get writer insight from Mark Russell on ongoing and past projects keeping you up to date and connected.

This week, special guest Mark Russell joins us to talk about his ongoing work, the state of the comic book industry, and more. We also get some insight into working with Kurt Busiek on the delayed but upcoming Captain America: Marvels Snapshot, what he’d love to write if DC still owned the Hanna-Barbara stories, some background on Billionaire Island, and more.

Before we get to Mark, we also host our third book club focusing on Black Hammer/Justice League: Hammer of Justice! by Jeff Lemire and Michael Walsh. Next, the news, which covers some good news about comics coming back soon due to DC announcing a new distribution model (and Batman #93 shipping in June), Diamond targets mid-May to start regular shipping, San Diego Comic Con has been canceled, new series Giga announced by Vault Comics, BOOM! and Netflix ink first-look deal, Todd McFarlane calls for unity across publishers to combat coronavirus, new writer/artist takes over IDW’s Sonic the Hedgehog without saying when, Jim Lee is on day 19 drawing 60 sketches for 60 days, and finally Ed Brubaker, Marcos Martin, and Muntsa Vicente release new post-YA horror series released digitally.
