Inspiring new docuseries, ‘Dear…’, profiles game-changing icons

Dear… takes a creative and cinematic approach towards biographies of game-changing icons.

A few years ago, Apple began airing “Dear Apple” spots that featured actual stories real people sent in to the tech giant about how their products helped them live healthier lives. These ground breaking spots have inspired a new docuseries, Dear…, to air on the Apple TV+ streaming platform.

Emmy and Peabody Award-winning filmmaker, R.J. Cutler, is the man responsible for the new docuseries. The show takes a creative and cinematic approach to creating biographies of famous figures by using the correspondence from people whose lives have been affected by their work.

The first season will cover influential icons from a variety of backgrounds. They include:

  • Oprah Winfrey
  • Gloria Steinem
  • Spike Lee
  • Lin-Manuel Miranda
  • Yara Shahidi
  • Stevie Wonder
  • Aly Raisman
  • Misty Copeland
  • Big Bird

Dear… will premiere globally June 5 exclusively on Apple TV+.
