Star Wars Celebration 2020 officially canceled

The news we expected, but extremely sad nonetheless.

It has been a long time coming but ReedPop has finally announced that the upcoming Star Wars Celebration 2020 in Anaheim, set for August 27th-30th, has officially been canceled.

The new date for Celebration has been announced for August 18-21, 2022. The two year jump is likely so that Disney can alternate hosting D23 and Star Wars Celebration every other year, and with D23 already scheduled for 2021, they likely just cancelled this Celebration and announced the one they had scheduled after that.

Reedpop is allowing ticket transfers to the new Celebration, but hotel reservations will be canceled by the company. Information on refunds, transfers, and merchandise can be found on their official site: starwarscelebration.com.
