AEW has released their rankings for the week of July 15, 2020 on the cusp of Fight for the Fallen.
After being delayed due to COVID-19, the latest AEW event will see Brian Cage challenge Jon Moxley for the AEW World Heavyweight Championship. Like Cage, “The Concrete Rose” Sonny Kiss is also going for his first AEW title when he challenges Cody for the TNT Championship, and we’re seeing a whole lot of action out of AEW’s highly touted tag division.
Let’s take a closer look at each division and see how AEW rankings look the night before the big show.

AEW
The only change between this week and last week’s rankings is that Brian Cage and MJF have swapped places. While the salt of the earth likely takes serious issue with his new placement, it certainly feels right that the man challenging Moxley for the most important belt in the company is the same man who sits atop the rankings for the men’s division. MJF might have the better record, but Cage has Taz and the FTW title, which right now, feels a lot more significant.
AEW Rankings Men’s Division
AEW Champion: Jon Moxley (13-0 singles, 18-2-1 overall)
TNT Champion: Cody Rhodes (14-1, 21-6-1 overall)
1. Brian Cage (6-0 singles, 6-0 overall)
2. MJF (7-0 singles, 12-2 overall)
3. Lance Archer (9-1 singles, 9-1 overall)
4. Chris Jericho (2-1 singles,15-5-1 overall)
5. Brodie Lee (5-1 singles, 7-1 overall)

Big Swole is slowly but surely working her way up the women’s rankings, but there’s a wheelchair bound dentist that’s on a mission to stop Swole’s momentum from getting to the AEW Women’s Championship.
There’s been a slow improvement with the women’s division recently, specifically with the investment AEW has made in Big Swole and Penelope Ford. Ford wrestled the best match of her AEW career against Hikaru Shida at Fyter Fest, and Swole is becoming an important component of Dynamite every week. But I can’t help but feel frustrated with the fact that the bottom two women on the rankings haven’t wrestled in months.
AEW needs to invest in newer talent, such as Anna Jay and Abadon, to make their women’s division feel bigger than 4 people.
AEW Rankings Women’s Division
Champion: Hikaru Shida (13-1 singles, 18-7 overall)
1. Nyla Rose (7-2 singles, 14-5 overall)
2. Big Swole (5-3 singles, 6-7 overall)
3. Penelope Ford (4-4 singles, 6-6 overall)
4. Kris Statlander (4-4 singles, 8-9 overall)
5. Dr. Britt Baker (4-4 singles, 13-8 overall)

Despite being on the show every week, FTR is still only sitting at 2-0, so it’s going to be a little bit before we see them on the rankings (famous last words).
Jurassic Express and Private Party have swapped positions since last week’s rankings. Apparently the addition of Matt Hardy to Private Party’s ranks have somehow hurt them? Jurassic Express has a huge tag team battle tonight when all three members take on Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks in a six-man tag team battle. A win tonight would be a huge step in the right direction for our favorite prehistoric tag team.
AEW Rankings Tag Team Division
Champions: Kenny Omega & “Hangman” Adam Page (10-0)
1. Dark Order (7-0)
2. The Best Friends (10-4)
3. Jurassic Express (5-1)
4. The Young Bucks (4-2)
5. Private Party (5-3)
