Tom King expresses “deep disappointment” around Jae Lee ‘Rorschach’ cover

The newly revealed variant cover by Jae Lee evoked a statement from Rorschach writer Tom King.

Earlier today, DC Comics revealed a new variant cover for Rorschach #1, a new DC Black Label book coming out in October from Tom King and Jorge Fornés. Many may not know, myself included, that Jae Lee has drawn covers for known Comicsgate artist Ethan Van Sciver. Knowing this, King took to Twitter a few hours after the variant cover posted noting his disappointment with the reveal.

Many creators replied their support of King and his announcement including Jody Houser and Joe Glass.

Just 30 minutes after King posted his disappointment, Ethan Van Sciver replied.

Though King said the thumbprint cover is the cover to the book, it’s not yet known if DC Comics will pull the Jae Lee variant cover.
