Earlier today, DC Comics revealed a new variant cover for Rorschach #1, a new DC Black Label book coming out in October from Tom King and Jorge Fornés. Many may not know, myself included, that Jae Lee has drawn covers for known Comicsgate artist Ethan Van Sciver. Knowing this, King took to Twitter a few hours after the variant cover posted noting his disappointment with the reveal.
Today DC put out an alternate cover to Rorschach by Jae Lee, who has also done covers for comicsgate, a hate group. DC does not consult creators on alternate covers; I reached out to them to express my deep disappointment. Far as I’m concerned this is the cover to Rorschach #1. pic.twitter.com/C9l8E2XxXa

Many creators replied their support of King and his announcement including Jody Houser and Joe Glass.
Just 30 minutes after King posted his disappointment, Ethan Van Sciver replied.
This is a shameful thing you're doing.
History will judge you for it. #CancelCulture #ComicsGate

Though King said the thumbprint cover is the cover to the book, it’s not yet known if DC Comics will pull the Jae Lee variant cover.
