Roman Reigns is now a Paul Heyman Guy

Believe that!

Roman Reigns made his return to SmackDown tonight after a surprise appearance at SummerSlam, where he revealed that he is now working with Paul Heyman.

At the end of tonight’s episode, WWE official Adam Pearce solicited signatures for the planned triple threat match for the Universal Championship between Reigns, The Fiend, and Braun Strowman. After obtaining Wyatt’s and Strowman’s, Pearce attempted to get Reigns to sign the contract, where The Big Dog used a favorite line of Heyman’s. The camera then panned to “The Advocate” as SmackDown went off the air.

Paul Heyman hasn’t been seen on WWE television since WrestleMania 36, where his (now former?) client Brock Lesnar lost the WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre.

This was the cherry on top of a jam-packed episode of SmackDown that saw the return of Sami Zayn and the beginning of a Fiend-inspired heel turn for Alexa Bliss. Payback may only be just 7 days after SummerSlam, but it’s quickly turning into a solid card.

Payback will go down live on the WWE Network this Sunday, September 6 at 7pm ET.
