AEW Rankings: September 2, 2020: All Out

The go-home show for one of AEW’s biggest pay-per-views is here.

Tonight’s episode of Dynamite is the go-home show for AEW’s upcoming All Out pay-per-view event, happening this Saturday, September 5. Safe to say this isn’t an episode you want to miss, so let’s not waste any time and we’ll get right into the latest AEW rankings.

AEW Rankings

Not much to say about the men’s division right now, as Lance Archer is the only person to have actually wrestled last week, so unsurprisingly the rankings are exactly the same as the last time I wrote about them. Last week’s episode of Dynamite involved a contract signing between MJF and Mox, and I expect we’ll see a few more shenanigans this week when Mox faces off against MJF’s attorney. Yes you read that right.

Mr. Brodie Lee has shown us that the TNT Championship open challenge is very much dead and buried. But his and the Dark Order’s antics on Dynamite, Being the Elite, and AEW Dark continue to prove that he’s very much deserving of the title. Get caught up with everything happening with AEW that’s not on Dynamite, and there’s a lot of it, through our weekly All Things All Elite column by AIPT’s very own Peter Boyer.

AEW Rankings Men’s Division

AEW Champion: Jon Moxley (15-0 singles, 21-2-1 overall)
TNT Champion: Mr. Brodie Lee (6-1, 9-1 overall)

1. MJF (8-0 singles, 13-2 overall)
2. Lance Archer (13-1 singles, 13-1 overall)
3. Cody (18-2, 26-7-1)
4. Brian Cage (6-1 singles, 6-2 overall)
5. Scorpio Sky (7-2 singles, 24-11 overall)

AEW Rankings

Abadon continues to slowly climb the women’s division rankings despite not being on Dynamite in almost two months. So unfortunately if you aren’t watching AEW Dark, then you really won’t be familiar with one of the best new additions to the women’s division.

Meanwhile, Britt Baker lost a match last week on Dynamite that she didn’t even wrestle in and AEW threw a random challenger at Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida, in the form of NWA’s Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa. The two will square of on Saturday at All Out for the AEW Women’s Championship, and while Rosa is an undeniably talented wrestler, the utter lack of build and story that went into this division for one of the company’s biggest pay-per-views, is extremely disappointing.

When will AEW get it together when it comes to the women’s division? Soon I hope.

AEW Rankings Women’s Division

Champion: Hikaru Shida (16-1 singles, 21-7 overall)

1. Nyla Rose (8-2 singles, 15-6 overall)
2. Big Swole (7-3 singles, 7-8 overall)
3. Abadon (5-1 singles, 5-1 overall)
4. Penelope Ford (7-5 singles, 9-8 overall)
5. Dr. Britt Baker (4-5 singles, 13-9 overall)

AEW Rankings

Jon Moxley and MJF will undoubtedly main event All Out, but the biggest story going into Saturday is without question the Tag Team Championship match in which Kenny Omega & Hangman Adam Page will defend their titles against Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler of FTR.

The Young Bucks kicked Page out of The Elite on Dynamite last week and Omega has offered no real action on the move thus far. Will Omega be gone from The Elite as well? Will Page join FTR? Is this all part of FTR’s grand scheme to destroy The Elite? Will FTR end Omega and Page’s epic run as champions? We’ll hopefully get the answer to all of those questions on Saturday.

AEW Rankings Tag Team Division

Champions: Kenny Omega & “Hangman” Adam Page (12-0)

1. FTR (7-0)
2. Best Friends (14-5)
3. The Young Bucks (6-3)
4. Natural Nightmares (6-2)
5. Jurassic Express (6-3)
