ComiXology has made all single issues of Black Panther free for all users on their digital service. You can start with Ta-Nehisi Coates and Brian Stelfreeze’s much-lauded run with Black Panther #1, dive into Coates and Butch Guice’s Black Panther And The Crew #1 which we recommend, and check out Reginald Hudlin and John Romita Jr.’s run from 2009 which AIPT reviewed saying “Does its titular hero proud.”
The free to download special also applies to the Killmonger and Shuri series.
Black Panther super-fan and writer at AIPT Rob Reed has put together a recommended reading list.
Check that out below:
Rise of the Black Panther (6 issue mini serving as the definitive origin for T’Challa) Start here!
Black Panther 1998-2003 (Priest’s run, and still the definitive run on the character. Grab the whole thing) Start here!
Black Panther 2005-2008 #39-41 (Jason Aaron penned the Secret Invasion crossover, and it’s an action-packed blast) Start here!
Killmonger (mini detailing the villain’s origins) Start here!
Captain America/Black Panther: Flags of our Fathers (a four-issue mini that features Cap and T’challa’s grandfather in WW2) Start here!
There’s no official press release sent out yet, so it’s unclear when this deal will expire, so go to ComiXology.com now before the special runs out!
This is great news if you want to check out series you might have missed.
