AEW Dynamite edges WWE NXT in ratings on September 30

Both shows increased in viewers from last week.

The ratings for this week’s Wednesday Night War are in, and according to Showbuzz Daily, AEW Dynamite once again had more viewers than WWE’s NXT.

  • AEW Dynamite: 866,000 viewers (.33 rating in 18-49 demo)
  • WWE NXT: 732,000 viewers (.19 rating in 18-49 demo)

This is an increase of 31,000 viewers for Dynamite, and an increase of 36,000 for NXT over last week, which is good news for both shows considering they were going up against game one of the NBA finals, the season premiere of South Park, and the MLB playoffs.

Speaking of baseball, however, one sad note: an entry titled “Baseball Rain Delay” got more viewers than AEW and NXT combined, clocking in at 1,728,000 viewers and a demo rating of 0.47. It’s hard to put a positive spin on that — many more people decided to watch footage of rain falling from the sky instead of professional wrestling, putting into perspective how small of a “war” this is compared to the days of Raw vs. Nitro.
