J. Jonah Jameson makes his Marvel Legends debut

The Daily Bugle’s editor-in-chief gets a long awaited figure update.

While many of us were expecting to go see the recently leaked Cyborg Spider-Man this Marvel Monday, Hasbro threw everyone for a loop by revealing J. Jonah Jameson’s first Marvel Legends action figure as part of their Retro Collection.

Although the character has recently become a begrudging ally to Spider-Man in the comics, he’s been primarily known as the wall crawler’s perpetual media detractor.

As far as plastic immortalization is concerned, he’s had an action figure before in the Spider-Man Classics line and one in 2002 Spider-Man movie toyline featuring the likeness of J.K. Simmons. There was also an alternate J. Jonah Jameson head included with the 2015 Chameleon Marvel Legends figure, but this is the first time we’ve gotten proper release of the Daily Bugle’s editor-in-chief in the Legends line–and it’s glorious!

The figure features a great head sculpt with Jameson’s trademark mustache and snarl. He’s also dressed in his standard newspaper chief attire complete with a disheveled tie.

Jameson comes with two newspaper accessories: One that’s rolled up for smashing desks/bugs and another featuring a ‘Spider-Sham’ headline…although I really wish they’d gone with the classic ‘Threat or Menace,’ but it’s still a cool feature. There are also two sets of hands that allow you to pose him holding the newspaper, pointing at the headline, or pointing at/judging your other Spider-Man toys.

The figure will retail for $20.99 and is currently available for preorder at your preferred online toy store. You better believe I already snagged this one. If you’re any type of Spider-Man fan, then it’s a safe bet that you’ll be doing the same!
