Joe Biden named president-elect: Comics creators react

Joe Biden has officially been named president-elect and comic book creators are rejoicing.

Around 11:40 AM EST major news outlets like CNN and MSNBC reported Joe Biden is officially the president-elect. After four days of checking the news, feverishly watching experts explain why a result was yet to be revealed, and generally stress eating our lives away the 2020 election is finally called. Many comic book fans rejoiced and that includes its creators.

Iron Man writer Christopher Cantwell broke out his Captain America figure to celebrate.

While others like Batman writer James Tynion IV kept it subtle.

As did writer Tom Taylor.

As did writer Scott Snyder.

Venom, Crossover, and King in Back writer Donny Cates shared not one, but two gifs.

While many New York comic creators remarked on the people all around them cheering and beating pots and pans in celebration. There are many, but here are Dan Slott, Phil Jimenez, and Magdalene Visaggio sharing the love.

Jim Lee also got in on the fun of sharing New Yorker joy.

And artist Mitch Gerads simply rocked out.

Other creators like Tom King shared comic book art to celebrate.

Or other fandom shares like Josh Williamson’s Star Trek share.

And G. Willow Wilson with the Ninja Turtles slam dunk.

Needless to say, there was much rejoicing today and likely through the weekend for comic book fans and many Americans and people around the world.

Back in September, Image Comics revealed Savage Dragon supports Joe Biden and Kamala Harris via a special cover. Check it out below.
