DC Comics sets June 22nd for ‘Wonder Woman Black & Gold’ #1

A new six-issue anthology comic book series celebrating Wonder Woman’s 80th anniversary begins June 22!

DC Comics has revealed a new six-issue anthology comic book series called Wonder Woman Black & Gold which will launch June 22nd. The anthology celebrates Wonder Woman’s 80th anniversary. The first issue will run 40 pages for $5.99.

The first issue will feature a story by John Arcudi (B.P.R.D.) and Ryan Sook (Legion of Super-Heroes) to show us the grace immortality grants a hero. Becky Cloonan (Wonder Woman, Gotham Academy) weaves a tale of Diana’s most precious weapon against the darkness. Then Amy Reeder (Amethyst) takes us back to the Golden Age for a romp co-starring Etta Candy. AJ Mendez Brooks (Crazy is my Superpower, Dungeons & Dragons: At the Spine of the World) and Ming Doyle (Constantine: The Hellblazer) travel to Themyscira for a tense family reunion. And finally, Nadia Shammas and Morgan Beem (Swamp Thing: Twin Branches) show us a story of Diana’s past failures come to haunt her.

Just in time for Wonder Woman’s 80th anniversary, DC Comics proudly presents a new six-issue anthology series starring the Amazon Princess embellished in the color of her famous lasso. You won’t want to miss celebrating the woman who inspires us all…and that’s the truth!
