Channel Surfing: Awesome TV picks for the week of 03/15/2021

DuckTales, motorcycle clubs, and superheroes.

It’s a big week for fandoms in our Channel Surfing TV picks plus a fictional motorcycle club rides again. The exploits of the Duck family come to a conclusion (for now) when the DuckTales series finale airs. There’s more crime drama at the California/Mexico border in Mayans M.C. Finally, Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes embark on a new chapter without Steve in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

One Last Adventure

The DuckTales reboot catered to both viewers that loved the original as well as to an entirely new audience experiencing the franchise for the first time. It provided updated and unique spins on these different beloved characters keeping something familiar yet new. As the seasons progressed the series even introduced versions of other familiar faces from Disney Afternoon.

Unfortunately, DuckTales will be coming to an end with a giant sized, 90-minute episode. It has all been culminating to a Duck Family standoff with the devious organization, F.O.W.L. Can our heroes save the future of adventuring? Find out in the series finale, which airs tonight on Disney XD.

Fully Initiated

The return of Mayans M.C. was longer than expected but that wait is coming to an end. Season three begins Tuesday, March 16, on FX. When we last left off, EZ finally becomes a full patch member of the motorcycle club after spending most of the show as a prospect. We’ll catch up with him a few months after the season two finale.

EZ must now deal with establishing his position in the Mayan’s hierarchy while struggling with the emotional fallout from murdering Dita. There is also the matter of the dead SAMCRO member during the party raid. We’ll have to wait and see if the Sons of Anarchy will make an appearance and play a significant part in the upcoming season.

No More Captain America

Disney and Marvel Studios aren’t waiting too long to bring fans the next chapter in the MCU. Might as well strike while the iron is hot. Only weeks after the conclusion of WandaVision will The Falcon and the Winter Soldier arrive.

The brand-new series takes place after Avengers: End Game and will follow the titular duo on a worldwide adventure that will put their abilities to the limits along with their patience. Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan reprise their roles and will be joined by the returning Daniel Brühl and Emily VanCamp who will play Baron Zemo and Sharon Carter respectively. Wyatt Russell joins the cast as John Walker. The season will comprise of six episodes.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier premieres Friday, March 19, on Disney+.
