Zuckuss was a male Gand who was a famous and highly sought-after findsman and bounty hunter who was active before and during the Galactic Civil War. Zuckuss was a rarity among his species in that he was a findsman — a centuries-old mystic order of force-sensitive Gand known for their incredible tracking and precognitive abilities — and that he was one of the first findsmen to venture off-world. The bounty hunter was noted to refer to himself in the third person.

Born on the fog-shrouded and rocky planet Gand in the Outer Rim Territories, Zuckuss breathed the planet’s ammonia atmosphere like all members of his insectoid species. Almost all the visitors to Gand were required to use respirators as the atmosphere was poisonous to most off-world species. When Zuckuss left his home world, he was required to wear a respirator connected to ammonia breather packs at nearly all times to avoid suffocation. The parts of the Gand’s head that weren’t covered by his respirator were the only exposed parts of his body, the rest of him covered in heavy battle armor and a beige findsman body cloak.

Thanks largely to his findsmen abilities, Zuckuss gained an extremely well regarded reputation as a bounty hunter and was one of the most highly sought-after members of the bounty hunters guild for those looking to find difficult to locate individuals. His findsmen abilities provided him with a sixth sense of sorts that warned him of incoming attacks, helped him sense the location of his quarry, and if his claims are to be believed, feel disturbances in the Force.

As a bounty hunter, Zuckuss often partnered with the protocol droid turned bounty hunter and thief, 4-LOM. They were an extremely formidable pair, with 4-LOM’s ability to process vasts amounts of data to determine probability greatly complementing Zuckuss’s precognitive abilities. The pair were hired to hunt down Han Solo and Chewbacca on two different occasions, once for Rekias Nodo and once for Darth Vader. The dangerous duo also hunted down fellow famous bounty hunter Beilert Valance, successfully capturing him and only allowing the fellow guild member to escape once he had paid them off.

You can join Zuckuss on his adventures in the Star Wars: Bounty Hunters comic book series written by Ethan Sacks and illustrated by Paolo Villanelli.
