Simon Spurrier teases new art and details for X-Men series ‘Way of X’ all week

If you need a new way, Simon Spurrier’s ‘Way of X’ teasers could be the answer.

Announced in January, writer Simon Spurrier, artist Bob Quinn, and color artist Javier Tartaglia are introducing a brand new X-Men series on April 21st called Way of X. We’ve covered it here at AIPT, including a special X-Men Monday with Spurrier to discuss the series, and this week Spurrier is covering it too by teasing the heck out of the series on Twitter.

Before we dig into these new teasers, what’s Way of X #1 about?

Listen to the latest episode of our weekly comics podcast!

THE WAY TO THE FUTURE OF X! Mutantkind has built a new Eden…but there are serpents in this garden. Some mutants struggle to fit in. Some mutants turn to violence and death. And the children whisper of the Patchwork Man, singing in their hearts… Only one mutant senses the looming shadows. Snared by questions of death, law and love, only NIGHTCRAWLER can fight for the soul of Krakoa. Only he—and the curious crew he assembles (including fan-favorites Dr. Nemesis, Pixie, and Blink)—can help mutants defeat their inner-darkness and find a new way to live. This is the WAY OF X. Simon Spurrier (X-MEN: LEGACY) and Bob Quinn (CAPTAIN AMERICA) push the frontiers of Krakoa in this unmissable entry into the bold new REIGN OF X.

Earlier this week, Spurrier posted some Krakoan with the text “We need a new way.” What could this mean? What is Nightcrawler, the leader of this new group be up to?

Then later that day, the same slogan was used on a few panels of art that feature a downtrodden Nightcrawler who may or may not have gotten bad news from Xavier.

Additional Spurrier shared some mutant music that same day. This is particularly tantalizing as it features what looks like Wanda Maximoff saying her famous line from House of M, “No more mutants.” The lyrics remind us mutants were “betrayed” by Scarlet Witch so could this new series explore her story and what she did. That’s tantalizing to say the least.

Then yesterday, Spurrier posted what sounds like a poem about a very haunting fellow. Possibly a hint at the villain in the series?

Then, earlier today Spurrier posted another piece of art. This one seems to hype who Nightcrawler is, which includes priest, pirate, and prankster. Check it out below.

Simon Spurrier teases 'Way of X' throughout the week

Likely the teasers will continue throughout the week and maybe for weeks to come! Per many of these tweets, the order code is FEB210518 and it’ll be available digitally.

I’ve collected all the teasers below.

Stay tuned here at AIPT as we get more news on Way of X, X-Men, and of course, X-Men Monday 100 is coming with big surprises and guests next Monday!
