Hasbro Pulse Fanfest 2021: Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series Reveals

Despite an alarming number of repacks, Hasbro still had plenty of great reveals for both the Vintage Collection and Black Series lines.

On Friday afternoon, Hasbro Pulse’s 2021 Fan Fest livestream revealed new figures for both of Star Wars’ major action figure lines. Let’s take a look at what Hasbro’s Star Wars team has in store for us starting with the Vintage Collection.

The good news (according to the panel) is that demand for Vintage Collection figures is increasing, especially overseas. The bad news is that Hasbro had decided to supply that demand with an alarming number of repacks, starting with this yawner of an assortment.

You’ve probably got a few of these laying around, but this one features a photoreal update, at least. The figure will retail for $12.99 and is available now for preorder with an expected arrival in August.

Han Solo (Endor)

Vintage Collection Han Solo (Endor)

Great news for those who missed the last six releases of this one, which also comes with a photoreal update. The figure will retail for $12.99 and is available now for preorder with an expected arrival in August.

Admiral Ackbar

IT’S A TRAP (for your wallet)!

All joking aside, this figure does look a bit better than mine from almost a decade ago–just not enough to make me buy it again.

If you want it, however, the figure will retail for $12.99 and is available now for preorder with an expected arrival in August.

Emperor’s Royal Guard

At first I didn’t think this one would be worth checking out at all–especially since my ERGs keep their helmets on, which would hide the photoreal update.

But then the panel mentioned that the fabric on the figure’s cloak was modified to fit it better, which is exactly what that toy needed. Depending on in-hand reviews, I may need to snag two more once these hit shelves.

If you’ve already decided to get yours, however, then the figure retails for $12.99 and is available now for preorder with an expected arrival in August.

Next up is the debut of a brand new subline for the super articulated 3.75″ scale figures.

Vintage Collection Gaming Greats

Heavy Battle Droid

I’m not a huge fan of battle droids, but this version from the Star Wars Battlefront II video game looks surprisingly good. The figure will retail for $14.99 and is available now for preorder with an expected arrival in September.

Even though I never played Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, you better believe I’m army building these badass looking stormtroopers. Now I just need to track down the Black Series version.

The figure will retail for $14.99 and is available now for preorder with an expected arrival in September.

Scout Trooper

In case you couldn’t tell by now, I don’t play video games much. After hearing so many great things about Jedi: Fallen Order, however, it’s been on my list to try out for a while.

No matter what my opinion of the game ends up being, I can safely say that I like this scout trooper design even better than the one we first saw in Return of the Jedi.

The figure will retail for $14.99 and is available now for preorder with an expected arrival in September.

Electrostaff Purge Trooper

The final reveal from the Vintage Collection’s newly minted Gaming Greats line also comes from Jedi: Fallen Order.

The Electrostaff Purge Trooper is an Entertainment Earth exclusive. It will retail for $14.99 and is available now for preorder with an expected arrival in July.

We’ll cap off the Vintage Collection reveals with the coolest one of them all:

Vintage Collection Antoc Merrick’s X-Wing Fighter

Okay…I seriously don’t have any room for another ship this size, especially with my HasLab Razorcest coming later this year. So of course Hasbro had to go and make a beautiful/highly detailed 3.75″ scale X-Wing piloted by one of my favorite characters from my favorite Star Wars movie, Rogue One.

It also includes what the panel claimed will be the only way to own a single carded version of Antoc Merrick in the Vintage Collection (which also looks fantastic).

No preorder information has been revealed at this time, but the set will retail for $99.99 and be a Target exclusive–which means no chance of getting it online, but a pretty decent one in store.

The last bit of Vintage Collection news is that Hasbro is offering fans a chance to vote between 5 hard to find figures to be reissued in 2022. The choices are:

  • Starkiller (Vader’s Apprentice)
  • Ahsoka
  • Weequay
  • Republic Trooper (The Old Republic)
  • Imperial Assault Tank Driver

You can vote here as long as you promise it’s for Weequay. If this poll ends me being able to staff a proper security team for my sail barge, I’m going to be exceptionally grumpy.

The next set of reveals come from a group 6″ scale Black Series figures that were previously revealed back in January as being in Hasbro’s development pipeline.

Black Series

General Lando Calrissian

This version has a significantly better facial likeness than the previous Billy Dee Williams release along with a soft goods cape. The figure will retail for $22.99 and is available now for preorder with an expected arrival in October.

Aurra Sing

Aurra Sing finally makes her Black Series debut, which already has a spot reserved on the bounty hunter shelf in my office. The figure will retail for $22.99 and is available now for preorder with an expected arrival in October.

Tech (The Bad Batch)

Hasbro Pulse Fanfest 2021: Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series Reveals Hasbro Pulse Fanfest 2021: Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series Reveals Hasbro Pulse Fanfest 2021: Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series RevealsTech entering the Black Series line puts us just one more member (Echo) away from completing the full Bad Batch team. He also comes with some cool accessories that’ll allow him to work on the cable box while you’re sleeping.

The figure will retail for $22.99 and is available now for preorder with an expected arrival in October.

Zero (The Mandalorian)

Hasbro Pulse Fanfest 2021: Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series Reveals Hasbro Pulse Fanfest 2021: Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series Reveals Hasbro Pulse Fanfest 2021: Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series Reveals

Despite how much I love The Mandalorian, Zero didn’t make enough of an impression on me to want him taking up space on my Mandalorian shelf.

If you do, however, the figure will retail for $22.99 and is available now for preorder with an expected arrival in October.

Koska Reeves (The Mandalorian)

Hasbro Pulse Fanfest 2021: Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series Reveals Hasbro Pulse Fanfest 2021: Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series Reveals Hasbro Pulse Fanfest 2021: Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series Reveals

Whether you’re a fan of The Mandalorian series, WWE, or just like badass Mandalorian warriors, Koska Reeves (aka WWE’s SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks and upcoming WrestleMania main eventer)’ Black Series debut is an absolute must buy.

The figure will retail for $22.99 and is available now for preorder with an expected arrival in October.

Now for a couple other fun items before we go.

Wedge Antilles Battle Simulation Helmet

Hasbro Pulse Fanfest 2021: Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series Reveals Hasbro Pulse Fanfest 2021: Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series Reveals

In addition to be the helmet for a legendary pilot, it also has a sound effects feature you can toggle between the Battle of Yavin and the Battle of Hoth. That’s pretty cool, but I’m not sure it’s $99.99 cool.

If you think it is, then the helmet is available now for preorder with an expected arrival in June.

Galactic Snackin’ Grogu

Hasbro Pulse Fanfest 2021: Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series Reveals Hasbro Pulse Fanfest 2021: Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series Reveals Hasbro Pulse Fanfest 2021: Star Wars Vintage Collection and Black Series Reveals

I could pretend that I’m not at all interested in an animatronic Baby Yoda that also reaches up for you to hold him, but that would be a lie.

Galactic Snackin’ Grogu will retail for $79.99 and is available now for preorder with an expected arrival in December. Check out the video below to see the little green guy in action.
