Ubisoft’s next offering in the Rainbow Six franchise has officially been named Rainbow Six Extraction. It’s expected to be an online, PvE shooter where squads of players are tasked with fighting and escaping from an alien enemy where the goal is to get everyone out of the conflict alive.
Extraction was originally named Rainbow Six Quarantine, but that changed for obvious, 2020-related reasons. The game was revealed at E3 2019 and set for an early 2020 release, but was delayed until later 2021.
You can check out two trailers for the game below, one where the dev team speaks about the game and another cinematic trailer showcasing the alien threat in some sort of laboratory setting.
Creative director Patrik Methe says in the video, “We took the strong foundations of Rainbow Six Siege and crafted a modern, tactical, co-op shooter where you’ll be facing an always-evolving alien threat.”
Expect more information about Rainbow Six Extraction to be revealed during Ubisoft’s upcoming livestream event June 12th at 3 p.m. EST.
