Star Wars Vintage Collection: Bad Batch figure 4-pack revealed

It’s the not the four figures you’re thinking/hoping for, but the Amazon exclusive set is still pretty great.

Wednesday morning, a host of Star Wars toy fan sites (including Star Wars Figuren and Bantha Skull) revealed a new Amazon exclusive Bad Batch 4-pack for the 3.75″ Vintage Collection.

The set will retail for $62.99 and is available now for preorder with an expected arrival in October.

No, it’s not the primary team members, although we’ll likely get those soon enough. Thankfully, it includes some pretty fantastic figures, including an army builder and someone everyone was hoping for after last week’s episode of Star Wars: The Bad Batch.

Let’s start with that one first.

Rex

In the current state of Star Wars collecting, it’s very rare to get a figure so soon after the character’s appearance on screen — especially for the Vintage Collection.

I assumed it was only a matter of time before we got Nomad Rex after his fantastic appearance in the Bad Batch, but this figure totally exceeded my expectations. From the fantastic portrait and soft goods kama to the beautiful cloak/poncho, calling this a “must buy” would be a huge understatement.

Captain Grey

Am I still mad that the Bad Batch premiere totally retconned The Last Padawan along with Captain Grey‘s look and story? Yes.

Do I still think this is a gorgeously designed figure that I’ll be happy to display on my shelf? Also yes.

Captain Ballast

UPDATED: Although another character by the name Ballast appeared in the Aftermath novels, this isn’t the person.

That leads me to believe it’s an entirely new character who has yet to appear on the show. Based on the extremely faded armor (and the de-chipped clones’ odd affinity for continuing to wear their highly recognizable armor), he could be the person Rex was contacting at the end of the last episode.

Whoever he ends up being, the figure’s phenomenal design makes him another “must buy.”

Elite Squad Trooper

I really hope the Elite Squad Trooper is given a single release so I can create a platoon of them. Much as I love Rex and like the look of the other two, I’d rather not buy multiple sets to get this one again.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go place a preorder…
