Marvel Legends: Retro Collection Sandman revealed

Sandman makes his third Marvel Legends appearance in the last five years–and it’s arguably the best one yet.

On Friday, Hasbro revealed a brand new Sandman figure for their Marvel Legends Retro Collection.

William Baker has seen two recent releases in the Marvel Legends line: As a Build-A-Figure and part of a SDCC exclusive boxset. I sold the drab exclusive version and still have the BAF on the Spidey villain shelf. If I didn’t though, then this figure would be a must-buy.

Check it out below.

For starters, it just looks better. Also, Marvel Toy News (which is a great site if you’re a Legends collector) pointed out that, unlike the BAF, this version has a standard/normal base that works in scale with other Marvel Legends figures when Sandman isn’t using his powers.

For the times when he is powered up, however, he comes with some pretty cool accessories, including an alternate head that perfectly captures how I felt trying to order the Star Wars Black Series exclusives from Walmart yesterday.

If you still need a Sandman on your Spider-Man shelf, then this is a great way to get him. The figure will retail for $22.99 and is currently available for preorder with expected arrival in November.
