Comic-Con@Home ’21: The Paramount+ animation panel

A look at all the trailers from the Paramount+ animation panel.

At this year’s Comic-Con@Home, streamer Paramount+ showcased several animated series during their panel. The lineup included two shows from the Star Trek Universe, Star Trek: Prodigy and Star Trek: Below Decks, the adult comedy, The Harper House, and the Emmy nominated, Stephen Colbert Presents Tooning Out the News.

Star Trek: Prodigy is the franchises first foray into children’s programming and is developed by Kevin and Dan Hageman. The story follows a crew of six aliens who must work together in order to explore the galaxy. They have no idea about the ship they just commandeered but as the season progresses, they are gradually introduced to Starfleet and its ideals. A teaser trailer of the upcoming show was revealed. Look for it to debut this fall.

Fans of Star Trek: Below Decks can get ready for season two which drops Thursday, August 12, on Paramount+. It will be bigger, funnier and Star Trekkier than ever before with strange new (and familiar) aliens to confront the crews of the U.S.S. Cerritos and the U.S.S. Titan. The official season two trailer was first shown during the panel.

The streaming service is developing its own slate of adult animation and the newest series on their roster is The Harper House. It revolves around an overconfident female head of a household who struggles to regain a higher status for herself and for her family of oddballs after losing her job. To make ends meet, the family move into the titular home which is a Victorian fixer-upper that they inherited. The ten-episode first season will premiere Thursday, September 16, on Paramount+. They too dropped their official trailer at the presentation.

Finally, a very special Stephen Colbert Presents Tooning Out the News was shown covering breaking stories at Comic-Con@Home including cosplay and the latest rumors following the expanding Star Trek Universe, including Star Trek: SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE and Trek of Easttown: The Wrath of Wawa.
