[WATCH] How are Star Wars’ Force ghosts like ‘real’ ghosts?

Afterlife imitates art?

Remember in The Rise of Skywalker, when Luke’s Force ghost caught the lightsaber, while somehow not being burned by the flames surrounding him? What’s up with that? Paranormal investigator and giant Star Wars nerd Kenny Biddle examines how reports of “real” ghosts influence cinematic depictions, and vice versa. Stay for the end and a discussion of Ghostbusters gadgets!

Kenny Biddle is a science enthusiast who investigates claims of paranormal experiences, equipment, photos, and video. He frequently hosts workshops on how to deconstruct and explain paranormal photography. He promotes science, critical thinking, and skepticism through his online Skeptical Inquirer column, “A Closer Look.”
