WWE has released a litany of Superstars this evening, including some extremely surprising names, such as Keith Lee. The wrestlers have been released “due to budget cuts”, according to Fightful, Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer, and other outlets.
The released wrestlers as of now are:
- B-Fab
- Ember Moon
- Eva Marie
- Franky Monet
- Gran Metalik
- Harry Smith
- Jeet Rama
- Jessi Kamea
- Karrion Kross
- Katrina Cortez
- Keith Lee
- Lince Dorado
- Mia Yim
- Nia Jax
- Scarlett
- Trey Baxter
- Zayda Ramier
While some of these names are not completely shocking (Gran Metalik and Lince Dorado have seemingly been trying to get released for months now, and many names have gotten very little screen time as of late), some are complete shockers. Keith Lee had just recovered from long COVID enough to make a return to television, and was recently repackaged with a “Bearcat” moniker. Ember Moon, Karrion Kross, and Nia Jax have all been top champions in WWE, and Harry Smith had very recently signed with the company.
These budget cuts come at an especially surprising time since WWE’s quarter 3 financials were so good the company has increased its profit projections.
We wish all the wrestlers the best in their future endeavors. More on this story as it develops.
