If there was any more reason to pick up Tom Taylor’s excellent DC Comics titles there’s a bit more incentive today as DC Comics has revealed a new crossover story is in the works. Starting in Nightwing #89 out in February and wrapping up its second part in Superman: Son of Kal-El #9 in March, Tom Taylor is telling a story that involves Dick Grayson returning the favor as a mentor after Superman helped him out at a younger age.
Superman and Nightwing actually connected in a real way back in Nightwing #83 (dig up the back issue and reread it now!).
Taylor has been on a roll with both series–check out our review of Superman: Son of Kal-El #5 to see what I mean–and after learning Nightwing #87 is doing innovative things with its art it’s no surprise he’s crossing over with these two titles. You can actually catch up on Nightwing very soon with Nightwing Vol. 1 out December 14th.
Check out the solicit and covers for Nightwing #89 below.
Superman/Nightwing crossover! Years ago, when Robin took his first uncertain steps away from Batman as his own hero, Superman stepped in and offered Dick Grayson crucial advice, support, and a name: Nightwing. Now it’s time for Nightwing to return the favor. To be concluded in Superman: Son of Kal-El #9 in March!
