The original Boston Comic Con founders are getting back into the convention game next year with Wicked Comic Con 2022. Taking place in the Westin Boston Seaport District on April 9, 2022, the one-day event is the first from the founders since selling the convention in 2016 to Lond-based Informa. Informa produces the Fan Expo conventions, which means Boston now has two conventions in contention for your attention.
The running lineup of guests for Wicked Comic Con 2022 includes:
- Simon Bisley
- Sweeney Boo
- Nick Bradshaw
- Danica Brine
- Katana Collins
- Francis Manapul (Manapul has since clarified he won’t be attending)
- Alitha Martinez
- Ed McGuinness
- Shawn McManus
- Sean G. Murphy
- Jerome Opena
- Ben Templesmith
- Plus cosplayers Mink the Satyr and Silhouette Cosplay
The one-day event takes place between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. with tickets now available to preorder on the Wicked Comic Con website. Artist alley and vendor applications are now available via the website as well.
The announcement also comes with the Wicked Comic Con logo, which appears to be the classic Marvel M logo only it’s upsidedown. Check that out below.
With San Diego Comic-Con Special Edition kicking off today it appears conventions are making a comeback and that includes brand new conventions as today’s news can attest.
