Roman Reigns tests positive for Covid-19; will not compete at Day 1

The Universal Champion will be unable to compete at tonight’s Day 1 pay-per-view.

WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns announced on Twitter that he has tested positive for Covid-19, rendering him unable to defend his title against Brock Lesnar at tonight’s Day 1 pay-per-view event.

I yearn to perform tonight at Day 1 to defend my Universal Championship,” Roman wrote in a tweet. “However, unfortunately, earlier today I tested positive for COVID-19. Due to the proper protocols I am unable to compete as originally scheduled. I look forward to returning to action as soon as possible.”

As a result, WWE has announced that Brock Lesnar will be inserted into the WWE Championship Fatal Four Way match between champion Big E, Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens and Bobby Lashley, making it a Fatal Five Way.
