Channel Surfing: Awesome TV picks for the week of 03/07/2022

Some interesting Channel Surfing TV picks for the first full week of March.

It’s the first full week of March and we have some interesting Channel Surfing TV picks with returning and new shows. Things become a family affair when The Flash resumes its current season. Upload imagines instead of heaven, you’re sent to a virtual world when you die. Then receive a different kind of sports hot take in Game Theory with Bomani Jones.

Following Your Father’s Footsteps

The Flash began its eighth season last fall but rather than continuing from where the series last left off, the first five episodes were a mini crossover. In “Armageddon,” Barry and the team confronted a powerful threat and enlisted people from all across the Arrowverse to help with their cause. At the event’s conclusion, we saw a brief appearance of the Allen children in the background of a photo.

After almost a three-month break, the superhero show returns. It seems from the teaser, both XS and Impulse will play a significant role. More familiar faces are set to appear in remainder of the season including Eddie Thawne, supervillain, Goldface, and Caitlin’s old fiancée, Ronnie.

New episodes of The Flash begin Wednesday, March 9, on The CW.

Metaverse for the Dead

Speaking of Robbie Amell, his sci-fi comedy, Upload, is coming back this week. In the not-so-distant future, after people pass away, their memories can be uploaded to a virtual world where they can continue to live.

Hopefully in the new season, we’ll receive more insight into the mysterious circumstances of Nick’s death. In addition, the romantic feelings between Nick and his afterlife handler, Nora, become more complicated. Nick’s ex has voluntarily joined him in Lake View and it seems Nora has found someone else as well.

Stream the entire second season of Upload beginning Friday, March 11, on Prime Video.

Late Night Money Hot Takes

You might recognize sports personality, Bomani Jones, from his appearances on ESPN. He’s been a panelist numerous times on Around the Horn, and had co-hosting duties on shows including High Noon and Highly Questionable. Now, the commentator is ready for a different venture.

In Game Theory with Bomani Jones, he will lead discussions that transcends the world of sports leading to compelling arguments around the industry and money. The host will take deep dives into weekly sports topics and apply an economics lens. Think Last Week Tonight presentation but with a different subject matter and perspective.

Game Theory with Bomani Jones will debut Sunday, March 13, on HBO.
