We bring you a new edition of our Channel Surfing TV picks.

Another week brings another batch of our Channel Surfing TV picks. After almost four years, Atlanta returns for its third season. One of the most influential video game franchises receives a television adaption in HALO. Then find out all the winners from movies’ biggest night during the 94th Academy Awards.

Across the Pond

When we last left Atlanta, the guys were heading out to Europe for a tour headlined by Clark County Now, after a long break, we finally get to see their exploits on the other side of the Atlantic.

In a different continent, we’ll find the characters even more out of their element. Series creator, Donald Glover, raised expectations when he said the next two seasons, three and four, would be “some of the best television ever made. [‘The Sopranos’ are the] only ones who can touch us.” It’s only a few days until we see if what he says holds true.

The season three premiere of Atlanta will air Thursday, March 24, on FX.

The Battle for Humanity

HALO has been entertaining gamers for over 20 years. The first-person shooter has been a staple for the Xbox consoles with the franchise having sold over 82 million copies worldwide and grossing over six billion dollars in lifetime total sales revenue. Soon, we will see the story in another medium.

The series takes place in the 26th century and follows the conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant. In the middle of it all is the Master Chief Petty Officer John-117 who embarks on a journey of self-discovery and fans can finally receive answers to the question, “Who is the Master Chief?”

The series premiere of HALO is Thursday, March 24, on Paramount+.

And the Oscar Goes to…

For one single night, the film industry comes together to celebrate the year’s finest movies and award them for their artistic and technical merit. The year 2022 will mark the 94th installment of the Academy Awards.

The evening will be co-hosted by a trio of talented women including Regina Hall, Amy Schumer, and Wanda Sykes. The Power of the Dog leads all films with 12 nominations while Dune isn’t far behind with ten nominations. Who will win the highly coveted statue for best acting, directing, screenplay, film and more?

The Oscars will air Sunday, March 27, on ABC.
