Courtesy of Top Cow, we have a first look at Zack Kaplan and Guilherme Balbi’s upcoming series Metal Society. Set for release May 4th, you can learn all about the series in AIPT’s exclusive interview with Kaplan on the AIPT Comics podcast. That first look includes a variant cover by comics legend Marc Silvestri with colors by Alex Sinclair. Joining Kaplan and Balbi is color artist Marco Lesko and letterer Troy Peteri.
What’s Metal Society about?
In METAL SOCIETY, the creators take readers into an inverted future, where evolved robots resurrected humans for manual labor. But, a tribalistic cultural clash breaks out, causing a fearless human fighter and a frustrated, displaced robot to square off in a public fight of epic stakes.

LOS ANGELES, 3.24.2022 — Top Cow/Image continues to create rumbles of excitement over Zack Kaplan’s sci-fi new series, Metal Society, with art by Guilherme Balbi, colors by Marco Lesko, and letters by Troy Peteri.
With the animated METAL SOCIETY TRAILER
unveiled earlier this month, the publisher decided to give fans a double reveal as they reveal Metal Society’s 1:25 variant cover. This cover is not only by legendary artist Marc SILVESTRI, CEO of Top Cow and Co-Founder of Image by the great Mexican colorist Alex Sinclair, known for his work on BATMAN HUSH and THE FLASH, often collaborating with Jim Lee and Scott Williams. Since it is Top Cow/Image’s 30 year Anniversary, it is great to see these iconic creators come together to work on this powerful piece for Zack Kaplan’s exciting new sci-fi series.
In addition, Top Cow is giving fans an exclusive look at the first 7 pages of Metal Society.
