Finalists were announced today at the Chicon 8, the 80th World Science Fiction Convention, the 2022 Hugo Awards, Lodestar Award for Best Young Adult Book, and Astounding Award for Best New Writer. The annual Hugo awards have been given out since 1955 to honor the best science fiction or fantasy works in the past year. Categories include the best novel, series, short stories, and graphic novels to name a few.
It’s an honor to be nominated, but which of the graphic novels were nominated this year? You might not be too surprised to see who made it on the list.
The nominees include two DC Comics titles including Far Sector by N.K. Jemisin and Jamal Campbell and Strange Adventures by Tom King, Mitch Gerads, and Evan “Doc” Shaner.
Kieron Gillen was nominated for two different works including Die vol. 4 with Stephanie Hans and Clayton Cowles as well as for Once & Future vol. 3 with Dan Mora and Tamra Bonvillain.
Rounding out the list was Lore Olympus vol. 1 by Rachel Smythe and Monstress vol. 6 by Marjorie Liu.
