WWE seems to be trimming its NXT roster further, as Fightful is reporting that Dakota Kai and Malcom Bivens have been released.
Dakota Kai joined WWE in 2015 as a participant in that year’s Mae Young Classic tournament, where she was eliminated in the quarterfinals by Kairi Sane. A longtime fan favorite, she turned heel in 2019 at WarGames, attacking her friend Tegan Nox (who herself was released by WWE back in November) before she entered the match.
Malcom Bivens joined the company in 2019 and is most notable for being the manager of Diamond Mine, an NXT faction headed by Roderick Strong. Sean Ross Sapp noted that Strong is now the only remaining member of the original Diamond Mine stable.
Less than a year ago Diamond Mine was supposed to be Roderick Strong, Tyler Rust, Arturo Ruas, Hideki Suzuki, Marina Shafir and Malcolm Bivens.
Strong is the only one still in WWE
