Regal Robot drops Star Wars Max Rebo concept maquette

Regal Robot has done it again, and the timing couldn’t have been better.

Regal Robot has done it again, and the timing couldn’t have been better. Having just talked about the two legged (armed?) puppet of Max Rebo in Jabba’s Palace with artist Chris Trevas on the Talkin’ Tauntauns podcast, Regal Robot goes and drops this awesome maquette depicting the original concept for Max Rebo that was eventually created into the puppet the we see as the keyboard artist in for Return of the Jedi and Book of Boba Fett.

With hands-on access to the original film artifact and high resolution 3D scanning, the Regal team crafted a faithful recreation of the Phil Tippett concept sculpture of this fan-favorite character from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.  Each 5 3/8″ tall (including the display base) statue is cast in heavy polyurethane resin. Made in the U.S.A., every replica in this edition was meticulously hand painted by the FX artists in their New York studio, making each a unique tribute to the artistry involved behind the scenes of our favorite films!
