“The Nature Boy” Ric Flair is preparing for one final match, according to ESPN.
The 73 year-old winningest World Champion in pro wrestling history will compete on July 31st, at the Nashville Fairgrounds at an independent show that will be streamed on Fite TV. The show will look to capitalize on momentum generated by WWE’s SummerSlam, which will also take place in Nashville the night before.
Details about the match, such as opponent, stipulations or even if it’s a one-on-one match or a tag team match, have not been announced.
“I’m going to walk that aisle one last time to prove once and for all that to be the Man, you’ve got to beat the Man,” Flair told ESPN.
Ric Flair hasn’t had a match since September of 2011, where he lost to Sting at a TNA iMPACT! taping. His final match in WWE, where he is a two-time Hall of Famer, was a loss against Shawn Michaels at 2008’s WrestleMania XXIV. Since then, Flair has been an on-again-off-again on-screen character in WWE, usually managing or feuding with his daughter, Charlotte Flair.
Ric Flair is 73 years old, and has had multiple health scares in recent years, so the decision to step back into the ring is a questionable one. Recently, however, he posted a video of him in the ring training alongside former rival Jay Lethal.

After this match, Ric Flair will have wrestled in six different decades, competing in each decade dating back to the 1970s.
