It was bound to happen, but today it was revealed the Ultraman universe will be crossing over with the Marvel universe in 2023. Details are scarce, but it was announced at the Super Anime Extravaganza at the Los Angeles Convention Center by series co-writer Mat Groom the crossover is coming.
Along with the news we also got a peek at art, which features Spider-Man, Captain Marvel, and Iron Man going at it with a kaiju while Giants of Light, Ultraman, and Ultraseven look on.
Clearly excited, Groom took to Twitter to express his excitement about writing Spider-Man.
That’s right, we’re bringing you the team-up you never knew you needed— Carol Danvers and Ultraman Taro!
(Oh, also— I’m writing SPIDER-MAN, WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT) https://t.co/cgEd2trDwR

Check out the teaser art that was revealed below.
Ever since Marvel launched Ultraman comics it was a question of when they’d meld their superheroes into the same universe. The Rise of Ultraman kicked things off back in 2020 and is not set in the Marvel universe, which was then followed by The Trials of Ultraman. Still no Marvel connection, and that includes the upcoming The Mystery of Ultraseven which launches in August as the next miniseries in the line of Ultraman comics.
Likely this crossover event won’t affect the continuity of Marvel Comics, but it’ll be exciting nonetheless to see Spidey quip about Ultraman’s costume. What do you think, are you excited about this crossover event? Let us know in the comments.
