SDCC 2022: Exclusive Star Wars: Black Series ‘Andor’ set revealed

Paul McCartney might have something to say about the figure’s portrait.

On Monday, British toy retailer In Demand Toys once again came through with an early look at one of Hasbro’s SDCC Star Wars exclusives. This time it’s a Black Series set from the upcoming Andor series, which includes Cassian Andor along with a new droid named B2EMO.

So yeah…a lot to unpack here.

All jokes about liking Fall Out Boy aside, the B2EMO droid looks great — especially the wash on the figure’s paint job. Unfortunately, poor Cassian Andor looks like he was dipped in a tub of Vaseline before this photo shoot. Also, Disney may have a lawsuit on its hands for using Paul McCartney’s likeness from the 1970s.

That’s not to say the figure doesn’t look at all like Diego Luna, but the recent Black Series rerelease is much closer.

I get that the character in Andor will be a younger version than who we saw in Rogue One. Unfortunately, this figure’s likeness still isn’t anywhere near the likeness we should expect for what’s sure to be a high-priced exclusive.

Thankfully, there’s sure to be a standard release of Cassian Andor in the near future. Let’s hope Hasbro can get that one right.
