Popcorn Frights is a genre film festival that was established in 2015. The Festival has also been a part of the Nightstream Virtual Film Fest. Previous movies to play at Popcorn Frights include Offseason, Z, and For the Sake of Vicious.
Popcorn Frights has announced its first wave of programming. Highlights include the World Premiere of Tyler Cornack’s Tiny Cinema on Opening Night; six feature film World Premieres including Living With Chucky with Don Mancini & Jennifer Tilly, the psycho slasher Final Summer, the Tim Burtonesque fairy tale with zombies The Loneliest Boy in the World, and a live score performance for the silent cinema masterpiece Nosferatu celebrating its centennial anniversary.
The fest has is regarded as one of the best genre/horror film festivals in the world. Domestic US theatrical distributors participating in the Festival have included 20th Century Fox, Warner Bros., A24, Focus Features, Fox Searchlight, IFC, Gunpowder & Sky, and Oscilloscope, among many others. It is also the largest genre film festival in the southeastern United States.
The Eighth Annual Popcorn Frights Film Festival will be taking place in Fort Lauderdale, South Beach and Virtually Nationwide, August 11-21. The lineup of films can be found HERE
