California Dreaming
The first season of Reservation Dogs follows a group of four misfit teens living in rural Oklahoma. The death of a close friend prior to the start sparks their interest to move west to honor his unfulfilled dream. Unfortunately, things don’t go according to plan.
Growing frustrated with the rest of the group, Elora is the only one to make the effort to head to California. However, instead of leaving with her friends, she teams up with Jackie, a member of a rival gang. The new season picks up with the pair on the road while Bear, Willie Jack, and Cheese continue life back at home.
The first two episodes of the second season of Reservation Dogs will be released Wednesday, August 3, on FX on Hulu.
Wagering on Your Life
Kakegurui Twin served as a spin-off and prequel to the popular manga, Kakegurui – Compulsive Gambler from creators Homura Kawamoto and Kei Saiki. The series resonated enough with audiences to receive an adaptation into an anime.
Enter the hallways of the prestigious Hyakkaou Private Academy where the social hierarchy is determined through gambling. Transfer student Mary Saotome must learn to adapt in this new environment but in the process, she becomes obsessed with placing wagers.
Binge the entire first season of Kakegurui Twin beginning Thursday, August 4, on Netflix.
Restoring the Dreaming
The Sandman is an influential comic series that would eventually become the flagship title of DC’s Vertigo imprint. The story comes from the mind of Neil Gaiman and had a long list of talented artists contribute. Over the years, a number of adaptations for television and film were developed but only Netflix was the one to complete the job.
Morpheus is the King of Dreams and one of the seven Endless who are one of the most powerful entities in the universe. One day, he is captured during an occult ritual and manages to escape over a century later. When he returns, he discovers his domain, the Dreaming, is in disarray and he must bring order back.
The first season of The Sandman will be made available beginning Friday, August 5, on Netflix.
