WWE has announced the upcoming expansion of the NXT brand in the form of “NXT Europe”, which will launch in 2023.
“Following the success of our live events and talent identification efforts throughout all of Europe, we believe this is the perfect time to expand NXT beyond the UK,” said Shawn Michaels, WWE Vice President of Talent Development Creative.
It sounds like NXT Europe will supplant NXT UK, whose future has been in doubt since a number of tapings have been suddenly canceled and several NXT UK stars have appeared on NXT 2.0 in recent weeks. Now, we know why.
While we have to wait until 2023 to see what NXT Europe is all about, WWE also announced a new edition of Worlds Collide the day after Clash at the Castle, which will feature both NXT and NXT UK Superstars. The event goes down Sunday, September 4 at 4pm ET.
