On Tuesday, StarWars.com revealed two new Vintage Collection figures from Hasbro as part of its weekly Bring Home the Bounty series. One of them is pretty great. The other is…well, you’ll see.
ARC Commander Colt
Even though I have the 2011 version of the figure on the shelf, this one is such a massive upgrade that it might warrant a purchase. If anything I could recreate the scene where Asajj Ventress kills him.
Unfortunately, the figure is a Walmart exclusive. If you’re still willing to deal with the hassle that entails, Arc Trooper Colt will (allegedly) go up for preorder on November 9 at 1:00 PM EST with an estimated arrival in Summer 2023.
The figure will also retail at the new standard Vintage Collection price point of $16.99. That’s a tough pill to swallow, but not nearly as galling as the cost for this next item.
Retro Boba Fett
For the ridiculous price of $20.99 (which is more than the cost of a standard Black Series figure a few years ago), you can own a poorly repainted Boba Fett figure with minimal accessories.
Why does this figure cost more than a standard Vintage Collection entry? Because Hasbro upcharges anything related modeled after Boba Fett — even when it’s on top of their already absurd price hikes.
If you still want to help Hasbro CEO Chris Cocks meet his goal of increasing revenue by 50%, this item will be available for preorder exclusively through Target on November 9 at 1:00 PM EST. It is expected to be available on store shelves by 2023.
UPDATE: As if the price weren’t bad enough, the preorder date has now been moved to November 16.
