Get your fill of thrills with the latest Channel Surfing TV picks.

Hopefully our Channel Surfing TV picks will help you get through the week into the holidays. The political action thriller Jack Ryan returns for a third season. Catch the suspenseful search to solve climate change in the next season of The Head. Then, learn how it all began in The Witcher: Blood Origin.

Preventing a World War

Dr. Jack Ryan has placed himself in danger in order to confront threats of national security. In this game of espionage, sometimes you must push yourself to the edge in order to do what needs to be done. In the latest season of his series, he may have gone too far.

While working a case in Rome, he comes across a plot by a small group of influential Russians who plan to restore the Soviet Union. During his investigation, he finds himself a fugitive from his own employer and country. Can he save the day without be caught?

The entire third season of Jack Ryan will be released Wednesday, December 21, on Prime Video.

Nowhere to Run

The Head was originally conceived as a limited series, but following the success after its release, a second season was developed. Despite the new location, many of the elements fan enjoyed such as isolation and the murder mystery will be incorporated.

This time around the setting moves from Antarctica to a freighter known as the Alexandria. There, biologist Arthur Wilde continues his groundbreaking research to find a solution to climate change after escaping from prison. Also on board is Dr. Maggie Mitchell, who was also stationed at Polaris VI Antarctic Research Station with Wilde. Look for a more claustrophobic feel while on a boat with most of the story developing in real time compared to the flashbacks of season one.

The new season of The Head premieres Thursday, December 22, on HBO max.

How It All Began

Fans of The Witcher Universe on Netflix will be able to visit a corner that hasn’t been really explored in the source material with the upcoming The Witcher: Blood Origin. The prequel goes back in time 1200 years before the flagship series takes place.

The story follows seven outcasts from different backgrounds that unite to confront a common enemy. As we witness their journey, we will learn the origins of the first Witcher as well as what caused the much referenced, Conjunction of the Spheres, which brought humans and monsters to the Continent.

Binge The Witcher: Blood Origin beginning Sunday, December 25, on Netflix. Unsure about the show? Check out our review.
