‘Ted Lasso’ teaser reveals season 3 return date

The last new episode of Ted Lasso aired in the fall of 2021. Since then, fans have been waiting over a year for the third season to find out what’s next for English soccer’s proverbial underdogs and their wholesome and charming coach. Looks like that wait won’t be too much longer with the new teaser revealing its March 15 release date.

Ted Lasso is moving to a new day, Wednesdays, marking the first time an Apple TV+ series will launch midweek. The third season will consist of 12 episodes and will follow the newly promoted AFC Richmond back into the English Premier League. Many sports enthusiasts and pundits have their doubts and predict the club will finish bottom of the table and be relegated once again.

Our lads have a steep hill to climb, especially when you factor in the buzz around their new rivals at West Ham United. They are owned by Rebecca’s ex-husband, Rupert Mannion, and coached by their old assistant, the new “Wonder Kid” of football, Nathan Shelley.

Meanwhile, club legend Roy Kent looks to fill the void left by Nate’s departure and Ted Lasso must manage the pressure of his day job while also wrestling with his personal issues off the pitch with his family back home in the United States. Also, Keeley steps away from the team to manage her own PR agency.

Despite the cards stacked against all of them, the head coach’s optimism is infectious. As you can see from the trailer, the team, much like us, is ready to believe.

Ted Lasso season three premieres March 15 on Apple TV+.
