Our Channel Surfing TV picks has big laughs, great food, and chilling thrills.

The newest edition of our Channel Surfing TV picks has big laughs, great food, and chilling thrills. A classic Mel Brooks film receives a sequel series in History of the World, Part II. It’s an international affair in the latest season of Top Chef. Then, close colleagues are on opposite sides in A Spy Among Friends.

40 Years in the Making

History of the World, Part I is a comedy film from the brilliant mind of Mel Brooks. It was released in 1981, and served as a parody to the epic film genre. The movie took viewers through time featuring key moments in history, regularly with a comedic slant.

Mel Brooks returns for History of the World, Part II, and this time he is joined by Wanda Sykes, Nick Kroll, and Ike Barinholtz as executive producers. Like the original, it will boast a large ensemble cast and explore the greatest true stories and figures of all time.

The first two episodes of History of the World, Part II are released today, March 6, on Hulu.

The Ultimate World Champion

Top Chef has taken place all over the United States across its first 19 seasons. The franchise is so popular, that it has even spawned multiple spin-offs around the globe. For the 20th season, the reality competition is doing something very special.

The original series is heading out of the country for the first time and is taking place in the great culinary city of London. We are also receiving another all-star season, but this time it will include contestants from the various international versions as well. The bragging rights are raised when you can call yourself the best in the world.

Top Chef premieres Thursday, March 9, on Bravo.

Who Can You Trust?

A Spy Among Us is a British espionage thriller written by Ben Macintyre. The true story takes place in 1963, and follows an MI6 intelligence officer named Nicholas Elliott. He soon becomes conflicted when he discovers his close friend and colleague, Kim Philby, is actually a double agent for the KGB.

The television adaptation is written by Alexander Cary. It has an impressive cast with Damian Lewis and Guy Pearce playing Nicholas and Kim respectively. One of the more intriguing aspects to this tale is that Macintyre explores ulterior motives for its eventual conclusion.

The series premiere of A Spy Among Us is Sunday, March 12, on MGM+.
