On Tuesday, Hasbro revealed two new figures for StarWars.com’s weekly Mando Mania event. We’ll kick things off with the 3.75-inch scale Vintage Collection.
Vintage Collection Cad Bane (Book of Boba Fett)

The infamous bounty hunter finally makes his Vintage Collection debut. It’s fitting that Cad Bane’s “realistic” 3.75-inch representation is based on the character’s live-action appearance in Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett. I didn’t think a Duros figure could get significantly more realistic/better looking than the Clone Wars release currently sitting on my shelf, but I was dead wrong. This is a definite must buy.
Cad Bane will retail for $16.99 with an expected arrival in Fall 2023. He will be available for preorder from most major retailers on March 22 at 1:00 PM EDT.
Black Series Luke Skywalker & Grogu

Let’s first talk about the price, which is where a lot of folks are getting hung up. As you might expect, I think the $44.99 MSRP is way too much. That said, it’s not nearly as bad as it seems. Contrary to many of the online complaints about the cost of the set (which I normally fall in line with), Grogu is not being priced like a regular-sized Black Series figure. At the current inflated baseline of $24.99, that puts Grogu and a boatload of really cool accessories at $20.
The real issue is with Luke Skywalker’s face, which isn’t anywhere near as good as the recent photoreal portraits have been. Either way, I won’t consider picking this set up until it inevitably goes on sale/clearance.
If you want to preorder one, however, it’ll be available from most major retailers on March 22 at 1:00 PM EDT with an expected arrival in Fall 2023.
