All is not right within the branches of the sacred World Tree. Towering huge, its life-giving sap sustains the many divided clans living within it… until the Chasm Strider clan’s diviner, Pierig, discovers the Tree’s sap has become infected!

As the sickness eats away at the World Tree, a party of Sap Hunters works its way down the levels of the massive Tree, inching closer to its roots. But what secrets do the dense roots hide? And how deep will this unlikely group descend to save everything they love?

  • Laurent Genefort was born in 1968 in the Paris region. At the age of 20, he became the youngest author of the Fleuve Noir Anticipation collection with Le Bagne des ténèbres. After studying literature at the Sorbonne, Laurent Genefort devoted himself entirely to writing and in 1995 won the Grand Prix de l’Imaginaire for Arago. He is best-known for the immersive universe that he developed around the space opera Omale.
